Seed
David Moles quotes Lewis Hyde: 'Electromagnetism may trace a rose in iron filings, but it is powerless to induce order into sawdust.' A nice thought, although one in hock to entropy. A magnet can indeed make some pretty pattern out of atoms of metal, but nothing so grand as is made out of atoms of wood by a conker.
