Seed
David Moles quotes Lewis Hyde:  'Electromagnetism may trace a rose in iron filings, but it is powerless to induce order into sawdust.'  A nice thought, although one in hock to entropy.  A magnet can indeed make some pretty pattern out of atoms of metal, but nothing so grand as is made out of atoms of wood by a conker.
